Now you're making sense.
Apple *claims* this.
Now let's see if it's true in the real world.

"World phone" previously used by blackberrys ( not sure if it will be the same or anywhere near with apple ) Were CDMA phones, with GSM enabled OUTSIDE OF USA/ w/e country the device was marketed/sold in.

In the end of all of this, I am glad to see the A5(which has nothing to do with apple) And that is "world phone".

I'll admit I was disappointed by the lack of a larger screen and overall redesign, but I figure the form factor may have taken a hit in the form of a wider phone, which could/might be devastating to all those aftermarket accessories like speaker docks and such. Also, I'd think Apple would have had to increase the screen res by 2x I'm guessing, and the A5 might not be up for that. I imagine this time next year when the quad core A6 is out we'll see a significant increase in screen res.

The 4S is an extremely big upgrade for me personally, as I own a 3GS. I'll be preordering for myself and the misses. For iPhone 4 owners? Not so sure...either way, people are going to gobble this phone up. It'll set the new bar by which every other phone is judged until this time next year. Just the way it is.

Your 1st comment makes little to zero sense, I said Apple has a chance to make the worlds first unlocked CDMA/GSM phone.

You slammed me for being 15 years behind and talked about a phone that was GSM unlocked, and that has zero relevance in this context.

I guess I expect nonsensical replies in general, but I wonder if you can't put a bit more care into understanding what people are writing, before you try and blast them.

True enough, but I don't see any reason not to believe it. Why would they make an announcement and showcase the fact that they can get twice the normal 3G speeds if it wasn't true? That'd just ruin their reputation. Apple doesn't generally make BS claims about stuff like that.

Nothing's stopping Apple from making sensationalist claims however. They can be exaggerating their results to a certain degree, so these would not perfectly translate to real-world applications.

I'm sure the new Nexus phone will be just fine and dandy and will have specs on paper that tower over the iPhone 4S, but at the end of the day, no one cares. That's just the way it is because two weeks later another Android phone will come out and steal what limelight the Nexus has. The turnaround on Android phones is too fast for anyone to get excited about.

Android makers should worry about competing with each other rather than Apple, because beating Apple simply isn't going to happen.

Finally, if all you guys care about is specs - whether they're usable or not, like LTE or NFC - then you win and I lose.
