I agree completely. I have played with almost every popular android phone, and none of them have even come close to beating iOS at anything. The interface is buttery smooth, compared to the jerky android menus, there are TONS of more apps, the battery life is better doing almost everything from browsing the internet and listening to music, to playing 3D intensive games. +1

Well that was more for certain members in this thread who for some reason seem appalled because other members don't like the same smartphone OS as they do. Really guys?

SGS II has better build quality. Having shattering glass does not make the device have better built quality. I can drop my phone and not have a high risk of the glass shattering on either end.

Everything runs buttery smooth. Heck, the SGS II is able to render webpages faster (browser dependent) then my PIIx2 at 4 GHz on the same network line.

The games are the same.

I will argue in favour of battery life. But I can get more done is less time. So that surely wasn't a considering factor. If my phone lasts through the day, gets 4x the productivity out of it, I'm fine with a day less battery.

The last point shows you have no idea what you are talking about.

I would definitely agree with you regarding build quality and battery life, nothing to deny there. For the other things though, I would say even or barely opposite. A few android phones I had were definitely slow, but phones with equal or at least similar to the iphone 4 spec wise, I had no problem with them by battery or os as I can use them smoothly without problems. My thunderbolt has the worst battery due to 4G, but I dont see what the problem that some people has of recharging a phone at night, its a darn good phone. There are better selection of apps on ios, but I find all the good ones require money, while I can get ones that does what I need it to for free on the android market.

Again, it seems like its just a matter of personal taste.

Again, this argument still won't die.

The reason why iOS is "buttery smooth" is that it implements hardware acceleration to the UI - which I admit that Android is severely lacking for years now. But even without that advantage, Android's UI is nearly there in terms of fluidity and that is evident in stock builds and newer devices. My Desire HD is really smooth thanks to CyanogenMod and Launcher Pro.

Come Ice Cream Sandwich next week, full hardware acceleration will be enabled to all eligible devices. So, that advantage would be rendered moot.

do you actually own the phone or just merely stating what you are dreaming of?

It's like calling the group stupid when you are pointing and yelling at me. I don't think it is fair to scorn someone when they weren't involved in your "others". Quote them, not me.
