Then again iPhone 4 launched with the same cpu as iPad but with twice the memory, I don't think it's reasonable to assume the 4S will ship with the iPad 2 cpu with twice the memory Plus many sites are reporting the 4S as having 1 GB of RAM. But we won't know for sure until Apple spills the beans or people get their hands on it

It might have changed from when I had my HTC Hero. On its first boot, there were a million apps running like a Nascar app, TV app, some radio app, etc. etc. Not to mention some launchers take up a lot of battery life too.
