Ah my bad, it must have recently fell. Earlier this year 1AUD was worth close to 1.10USD, not sure it it actually hit the 10cents, but it had been sitting at 1.08 for ages...

Still, the exchange rates isn't 1AUD = 0.50USD, so why the massive price difference

Is that really the price with contract? That seems more like the price without contract.

It is...except the only hardware updates were the CPU and camera. It's the iPad2 launch all over again - Apple did nearly no work whatsoever, yet is marketing it like a revolution.

The CPU boost from the 3G to 3GS was BADLY needed, but here it's just like...whatever.

They aren't marketing the 4S like a revolution, but I feel like they are putting more emphasis on IOS5 and Siri

Saw the Nokia customer satisfaction and I bursted into treats.

We're all waiting on the N950, Nokia.

last time i checked we are at 95 cents...not at the 1.09 a month ago. shouldn't have held off on my eastbay purchases.

back to the topic. it's a shame apple didn't really push the envelope. I would hardly say this is a real big step for them. but holding back for a massive release of the iphone 5 seems like the only logical explanation. i hope this somewhat underwhelming release doesn't slow down innovation and cutting edge phones by the other companies. apple has set a cracking pace in this market that has only benefitted the consumer no matter which phone you have.
