they claim to say that it woukd come with this new app known as "siris" but will it only do what they are expected to do; allow users to have a convo with the phone? or is there more to that

Almost... it'll basically be an AI interface that can answer any question you have. Like, ask it what the diameter of the earth is, and it'll answer. It's like google searching, but easier (and you look silly if you're in public).

Jokes aside, honestly, vote with your wallet. If the industry likes the iPhone, it will be bought, end of story. Doesn't make it better, it just makes it "what's in". Now, don't get me wrong, there's got to be a reason why, year after year, it sells like hotcakes. It's the most simplest answer actually. It's got pretty good hardware with a intuitive interface that makes it easy to consume content, since this is, after all, a consumption device.

About not living up to the rumors and/or hype, you should not have believed those rumors or hype.

Camaro FTW, just sayin'.
Lulz, Camaro. It's all about the Challenger!

But yes, I'd agree with you. It sells like hotcakes because people like a device that is well-supported, has the most apps available for it, and does what they want without them having to delve into customizing it.

I mostly like them because they're stable, fast, and have the most apps available. Android's marketplace is still half the size of the app store, and most new apps come out on the iPhone first, or at the same time as in the Android marketplace. I also like Apple limiting apps to only apps they approve. Ensures me that nothing funky is going on...

Not true.

And those numbers are from months ago. The gap is even closer now, Appbrain says just under 300,000. The amount of apps available to Android, are going to easily surpass the amount available on iPhone next year.

You can pre-order and have it delivered, buy from the apple store and enjoy the apple store experience or even get it from your local rogers store.

I'm buying the 4S. Selling my 3GS first and then saving. Won't have enough before I can pre-order, but hopefully I can get my hands on a 32GB from CL

AT&T says their preorders open up tomorrow. I'll be stopping by on my lunchbreak to plunk down my $200.

Anyone getting a 64GB? I'm not sure if that's overkill

Dunno about you but, most of the folks that I know use it in ways that enhance their life, and not just for media consumption.

Information management, scanner, VNC sessions, guitar preamp, alarm clock, general purpose internet device, instagram and social apps.
Most, if not all of everything you mentioned is consumption only. Aside from the alarm clock, everything else is consumption. When I say consumption, I don't mean restricted to MP3s and Videos, I mean, consumption of information. The creation of data, however, is limited in the iPhone, as well as most other phones as well. Yes, you can type documents, but would you rather type a document on the phone or on your computer? Would you do an entire project on your phone or your computer? You see where I am going with this?

However, would you rather lug around a laptop and have to pull it out every single time you needed access to the internet or would you like to be able to consume such information from your iPhone? Hence, why I said it's mostly a consumption only device.
