Are you eligible for a HUP? If so, just pay the $199 from Rogers, especially if you don't have a Data plan yet.

I'm sure they're going to bring back the 6GB data plans, and try and get at least a $5 credit from Retentions. You're going to be locked in to a new 3 year contract, so negotiate something better than what you already have.

Rogers Retentions has gotten very stingy lately though, so if you get any type of credit, and an improved plan, TAKE IT.

inb4 ForumViewer or Steelbom say it's better to get it from the Apple store.

Yes, you can type documents, but would you rather type a document on the phone or on your computer? Would you do an entire project on your phone or your computer? You see where I am going with this?

However, would you rather lug around a laptop and have to pull it out every single time you needed access to the internet or would you like to be able to consume such information from your iPhone? Hence, why I said it's mostly a consumption only device.
You just hit the nail on the head.

This is why I have a Tablet PC, and not an Android/iPad. Yet many people don't get it.

Man, even 32GB would be overkill for me. But I'm just getting the 16GB. I guess it's because I hardly ever listen to music from my phone... most people probably load up a bunch of music on theirs. I probably have over 100 apps, and they only take up around 500MB. Though I suppose with the higher picture/video quality, the remaining 10GB will be taken up rather quickly compared to my 3GS - it took a year and a half before I had to dump everything from my 3GS to make room!

This is why I have a laptop, and not a tablet. I can't stand typing on a regular basis on a touchscreen.

Yeah but they've got convertibles, where it's a laptop and tablet in one. I use mine as a laptop ~80% of the time, but there's always the Wacom digitizer for doing math, editing photos, drawing, CAD, and so on. It's a whole different ballgame

I was going to get the 16GB as well, but I began thinking about the camera. Taking 8MP pictures and 1080p video is going to eat right through 16GB when you consider other things that will all be installed, be it apps, music, etc. Just something to consider...this dawned on me today.

Sprint is already allowing pre-orders.

Wouldn't it be great if iPhones included an SD card slot?

I know some of you argue against this logic though.

I wouldn't mind one of those. They're so expensive and underpowered though! At least the ones I have seen... if I had a lot of money though, I'd definitely look at getting a convertible laptop/tablet.

True. The 3GS takes up about 1MB per image, and that's with 3MP images. So, figure an 8MP image will take up about 2.6MB per image. I figure 12GB of free space after installing the apps and music I want, so... that's still 4,600 images.

The 1080p video will probably take up a great deal of room though. I can deal with offloading after an hour of taking video, which is my guess as to how much 1080p it would hold. Could always take it in a lower res too...

It would be nice, but I figure they couldn't fit one in along with everything else they have packed in the thing. I'd rather have two antennas for better reception than an SD card slot.

iCloud basically defeats the need for external storage like that. I don't know if videos will be synced in the same manner though.

It'll let you sync 30 second clips.

Is that true? I haven't looked into yet.

Considering how large 1080p video files can be, I'm not really surprised by the limitation.
