iCloud only gives you 5GB free. How much is additional storage, do you know yet?

if iCloud is so great, why are you considering paying an extra $100 for 16GB or an extra $200 for an additional 48GB?

Wouldn't it be better if Apple an SD card slot to give their loyal customers the opportunity to upgrade their devices at an affordable cost? Most phone manufacturers do this.

No, NOT TRUE! I have no idea what the sync limitations will be. Was just poking fun at the fact that you can only email 30 second clips from an iPhone (currently).

I don't know where you've been looking, but most of them are actually pretty powerful. The top 3 right now are the Lenovo x220t, HP 2760p, and Fujitsu T901 - all of which sport up to an i7-2620M. They also have the options for outdoor viewable 400nit IPS/AFFS+ screens and enough battery power to last between 10-16 hours. The front of the screens are all made with hardened glass/gorilla glass. And the x220t, at least, supports mSATA SSDs, leaving the 2.5" bay free for a big HDD.

If you ask me, the screen alone is worth the price premium over other laptops and their crappy, glossy TN panels. The only thing you're missing out on is having a discrete GPU, but it's not so bad:

1) the i7-2620M is still capable of handling less demanding games like TF2, L4D2, Borderlands, etc

2) You can always swap it out with a quad core yourself

3) If you don't mind only gaming when tethered to a desk, you can always use one of these or these with an nVidia GPU and optimus drivers. This will let you use a desktop GTX580 (or whatever) on your laptop screen (though an external display will still be faster). Check it out:

Lol, yeah... see the last time I was able to spend a lot on a laptop was 2006. And the tablets then were pretty crap compared to what I could get in a regular laptop for the $1500 I planned to spend.

More recently, my budget was $200. I spent $180 on a used Toshiba dual-core with a Radeon 3200 graphics chip.

Probably will have another $200 budget in, oh, 3-4 years.

Basically, what I meant by expensive and underpowered, is that for $200, the only sort of convertible tablet I'd be able to find would probably still be in the single-core era with an Intel graphics chip.

Over 8GB is just pointless for most people. I never use over 4GB. For Video which take a lot of space only keep about 3-4 Episodes and delete them when i am done. The rest i use Air Video to watch my PC Video Library. Music ~ 300 Songs. If anyone has upwards of 4 digits then its just stupid, A) Too much music to listen, B) After a while you stop listen to the same song as most became annoying. As for Apps last time i check they dont take too much space. Most are under 25MB mark. That being said 16Gb is very easy to fill but is it necessary?, i say No. If people have their Phone as a Music Library for all their songs then that also another problem.

Most 3d games are about a gig. 16 gigs is obviously not necessary. None of the features they keep adding to phones are necessary. No advancement in consumer technology is really necessary. That doesn't mean that you wont hit a wall, sooner rather than later, and wish that you had more than a measly 16gb.

16gb is currently feck all. Year after year, the stuff we consume takes more and more memory. In two years time, when you finally get out of your hypothetical contract. Do you really think those 16gb will have been enough?

Lol, a cell phone isn't necessary either! It's not really right for you to go and say "8GB is pointless for most people", when that is clearly not the case.

Justify the space then? Why would you need 64Gb?
