I personally figure I need at least 16GB. 8GB (actually around 6GB after you get around OS needs) would only store about 30 minutes of 1080p footage, which would mean too many offloads for my taste. I plan to take lots of pictures/video.

Apps & games will come in at around 500MB, until newer, more complex games come out (I imagine some of the 3D ones will take up a good deal of space).

I'm not a big music listener on mobile devices, but those who use their phones as iPods will probably want a good deal of space, especially if they are a high-def afficionado. Some people have even filled up their 80GB iPods. I just can't imagine having that much music, but some people do...

There's lots of reasons for wanting different amounts of space. But just saying it's pointless only because you wouldn't use that much space is really silly. Obviously people use it, or they wouldn't be dishing out the extra dough for the 32GB or 64GB models.

If you have kids, you tend to take a lot of pictures and video

Well think of it this way. Let say toy have 5000 song (Year right $5000 worth of music if you bought it at iTunes) You will never listen to that much in a mobile. This is a phone to begin with which more then half of activities are phone related. The only thing that will take space is the Camera but if you play to take more then 30 min footage then better get a professional camera. Smart-phones are a alternative to many devices we use but not a replacement. They are the fast food of technology. You cant go off eating McDonald all your life. Basically what i am trying to say if you use the phone as the primary music source (I use my PC) use it as a primary Camera ( I use my D3100) primary gaming device ( I use my DS and PSP) then i can see then need for 64Gb. Just because more doesn't mean it need to be. Nobody need 64Gb RAM even though u could have it now. Most people get a new phone every 2 year and that not a big time for stuff to change.

You are right, and many people DO in fact use their phones as replacement camera/music source/gaming device

Hopefully i'll get the 32GB, 64GB might be too expensive for me, since I'm buying outright.

It literally makes me hurt inside and want to spew when I see people who have stopped debating and are just mindlessly defending. Not pointing at anyone in particular, jus' sayin' the quality of the "points" being made in this thread is rapidly declining.

People will buy what they want. Maybe what they're buying is a piece of crap. Maybe they're idiots. But I don't care, and neither should you. Because it's not up to you to make sure everyone buys what you think would be best.
Make 'em aware of the other options, if they don't wanna go with it then stop. If they answer with retarded logic, then GIVE UP STRAIGHT AWAY BECAUSE THERE'S NO WINNING WITH THEM.
