And most of them are repeats of the same application, on both iPhone and Android.

1080p takes up about ~1.4MB per second or so on my Galaxy S II.

Not if I'm recording large movie clips...Even if it still worked fine, I wouldn't want to see the upload time on it.

As for Apps last time i check they dont take too much space. Most are under 25MB mark. That being said 16Gb is very easy to fill but is it necessary?, i say No. If people have their Phone as a Music Library for all their songs then that also another problem.
It's pointless for you, so it's pointless for everyone, yep. Makes sense.
In actual reality, a lot of people tend to like to load up their devices with mp3s or take lots of photos/videos, I'm yet to see anyone who hasn't used over 8GB of storage easily.

And it may be too much music to listen for you, but for someone like me who listens to stuff on shuffle nearly all day, every day? It's great, especially when I randomly get an urge to listen to a track (Say, Be All, End All by Anthrax), when I had a measly 4GB on my HTC Dream (SDCard only storage) I'd have to wait until I got home to convert the track to MP3 or Ogg Vorbis, then put it on, but now I have enough to easily have all of my non-demo tapes/live shows/bootlegs on my device easily. (48GB)

High quality photos, I've used around enough space for ~1000 in the 2 or so months I've had my SGS2 just from editing them and keeping the originals.

Above music example, or alternatively if you use uncompressed music, all of my compressed music is around 56GB alone, imagine if I wanted the uncompressed stuff on my phone! (Yes, there is an improvement, for my most listened music tracks I put the FLAC versions on.)

Downloads, it's great to have something that can download your Linux distros using only ~1w or so of power, versus at least 50w for my home PC.

Videos, at roughly 1.4MB per second of footage, it's bloody useful to have lots of storage for any videos you may wish to take.

Future games, mobile games will use more and more storage as they increase in graphical quality.

Movies, Usually 1GB at least (4GB can be normal too) per movie, sure, I can just put a few on, but why should I have to carefully manage my space? And not everyone can stream, you know.

...It's better for nearly everyone, I seriously can't see any legitimate reason why you'd be against it.

Anyway, that's my opinion and it isn't changing any time soon. If you think they're great, well that's fair enough.
Uh. Wow.

You must really drink the Apple flavoured Kool-Aid, no offence, but the only difference would be a small slot with a cover for it...

It's one of those things that seriously won't affect you in any way if you don't want it, but benefits those who do want it greatly.

And 640 kb oughta be enough RAM for anybody.

8GB is pointless for you, but for me, it's not enough. Now that I need more space, my only option is to buy a larger capacity iPod. I covered all this in that other thread, so I won't rehash it here.

I don't have 5000 songs like you claim is possible, I actually have under 1000, and have no where near my full music collection. I won't go into detail and let you ponder that.

The only thing that will take space is the Camera but if you play to take more then 30 min footage then better get a professional camera. Smart-phones are a alternative to many devices we use but not a replacement. They are the fast food of technology. You cant go off eating McDonald all your life. Basically what i am trying to say if you use the phone as the primary music source (I use my PC) use it as a primary Camera ( I use my D3100) primary gaming device ( I use my DS and PSP) then i can see then need for 64Gb. Just because more doesn't mean it need to be. Nobody need 64Gb RAM even though u could have it now. Most people get a new phone every 2 year and that not a big time for stuff to change.
Yeah, and I have a DSLR camera and a HDD camcorder too. But guess what? When my baby girl is doing something cute, and I want to get it on video, do I go to the closet, pull out the camera bag, open it up, pull out the camcorder, flip the lens open, wait for it to start up (or plug it in, because it's probably lost charge by now), and THEN start recording? No - I'll pull my 4S out of my pocket, access the "record" button from the menu, and start recording in 1.1 seconds.

Just because you use a device in a particular way does not mean everyone else uses it in the same way. I am in awe of how far you are detached from reality. Really, you've posted some of the most nonsensical nonsense I've seen in a long time. It's even bad by OCN standards.

Actually, you're wrong. I would absolutely disapprove of Apple using an SD card. And I do try to be unbiased as possible. For the record I don't agree with everything Apple does, but if you do read enough of my posts you should know that. And no, I work for myself.

When you said

you lost me. You've pretty much just said no matter what is brought to you, no matter what anyone says, you're not even open to changing your opinion. Nice There's a word for people liek you...
That's not what I meant, I just mean bashing me over it isn't going to change my mind. And don't insult me, sigh.

I'm not drinking any "Apple flavoured Kool-Aid", and none taken. If it absolutely won't impact me in any way, that's not too bad then. However, I'm not convinced it won't -- perhaps I'm wrong, but this is a pretty small thing and not even worth arguing about anymore, no?

@ steelbom: How are you able to respond to illogical nonsensical gibberish? I mean, I would of quit long ago. The Apple hate sometimes goes to far, but I guess I can understand, I really really hate Fords....
