i think i have to switch to the red side of things ;[ i have a crappy unstable gtx 460 and i have a friend that is willing to buy it for 110$ since he doesnt want to OC . so with that in mind i only want to spend 100 bucks making my budget 220-230 ish. with that in mind

my mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...pk=h55m%20ud2h

my case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ermaltake%20v4

i need the best graphics card that will future proof my system. sure i wanted to gtx 460 sli but my mobo doesnt support it ! i run at 720p right now but going 1080 soon and maybe down the road another monitor. i realllyyy like the idea of a 6950 unlock to 6970 but most people tell me its not garanteed. lol where can i find one that will do it? what if somoene used is selling it i can't make wanted post in the marketplace here for some reason. the other option someone suggested a 560 ti. but even then i will be a dead end cuz no sli.

any advice for maxing out bf3 right away? best upgrade from my gtx 460 which is this one

Maxing BF3 on a single card? Everyone says you need atleast GTX 580. I have the beta on ultra settings on my 570 and I dont notice any lag. But it is the beta, so the graphics are going to improve.

EDIT: Also, how old is your card? It sounds like your friend might be ripping you off.

its 3-4 months old. do people really buy them for more than 120 bucks?

also for the people recommending nvidia cards i cant sli it unless i buy another board which i really dont want to lol. what if i were to get a 6950 unlock to 6970 and cf that later on when things get more intense. i would have 6970 in crossfire for like 400 bucks total lol but thats just a dream and i am more of nvidia type

Hmm I guess you're right, I just didnt think the card would depreciate in value by 50% once used. You're card is manufactured overclocked isn't it? That would make it worth a little more, since why it is more expensive than a standard card. A standard, new 460 is worth $160 and has a resale value of $110. Just my 2 cents, you can sell it for it for whatever you want really.
