one more question, my cpu is a phenom ii x4 955 BE oced to 3.6 GHz. should i OC it more to 3.8? im just wondering because i dont have much experience with bottlenecks

Only if you 6870 has 2GB on it or else you will run into a bottleneck with only 1Gb of vRAM available in the near future. My opinion is to always have a single top tier card rather than xfire or sli if you can afford it. if not then look at the vRAM as only one card is used.

Also a Phenom II @ 3.4 ghz is about what you need for bf3 so anything over is just extra happiness.
