need a new GFX card!!

ok so i currently have a Palit GTS450

but the need to upgrade to bigger and better has hit me hard! im considering SLI but dont know whether or not it will provide enough graphics power!

i dont mind spending the money if the card will last and wont bottle neck on my board.

(its for sig rig btw)

Guessing you want to stay with nVidia. However you didn't state your budget. Seeing that rig though I suppose you have money.

I wouldn't go for the SLi 450. The 570 is a really good set up and so are 580s. If you have the money to blow that is. 580s will futureproof you for quite a while. You could even go 470/80 for less cost if you can deal with increased heat and power consumption. Keep in mind that you might have to upgrade that PSU to around 850W-1000W depending on what you decide and OC if you go SLi with higher level GFX cards.

You won't bottleneck your cpu or board. What res are you running on your tv? 1920x1080?. Sli 450's won't hold you for long at that resolution. I would think about selling the 450 and getting a nice, new card, and possibly sli/crossfire that down the road.

Here is 560ti compared to 580, for 560 non ti take about 10% off of the 560ti's FPS. The 550ti won't even be half as fast as a 580.

It looks like GTS450 SLI is approximately equal to a GTX560 or 6870. I would probably go for a better single card solution, since they tend to provide better minimum framerates.

hmmm so SLI 560TIs then view?
SLI 460s are nearly as fast at just over half the cost. At the same speeds the 460 is about 10% slower than the 560ti, maybe even less in SLI. They can both overclock to a high degree but the 560ti will reach about 50-70Mhz higher than the 460 on average. So all told for SLI 460s I'd say you're looking at from 10-13% slower in SLI for 40% less money. That is a good deal in my book.
