I know the topic's on 5850s but crossfiring 6850s should also be very cost-effective right? I've been thinking of getting another one to complement mine when I build for Bulldozer.

Well, the 5850 is faster than the 6850, so I guess you'd need to weigh in the performance and cost difference. It will still be a lot more bang per buck than seriously high end solutions, though.

You only have to look at the link i posted. Seems some people don't agree?

5850's in crossfire beat cards twice the price. Sorry if people don't grasp that fact.

You can still buy them in Spain for dead cheap. €100, which is around GBP 80.


Super powerful card for a crappy price. I'd get one to HCF with my 5870 if it wasn't because my problem is the lack of VRAM, not horsepower.
