but really i would love to get an i5 in that range..

Believe me a have worked on both and by far it's not the same.35W is the maximum power for both in max load and the i3 i can ensure you that will use this power much much less times than amd and when you are using for net the i3 will consumes 18W and the amd 24W with whatever that means for the autonomy of your laptop..I am an amd fan for years but i admit that at laptops amd has way to cover till reaches intel. One more parameter is the future upgrade which might interests you cause you can replace by yourself the i3 with an i7 in very good price (now costs on ebay the top model i7 620M cpu only 119$) and if you sell the i3 to cover a little cost you will have a non comparable with any amd laptop for a very small price..

ok, how about these amd C50 processors. Sure they are clocked at 1ghz only but they've got HD 6250 and they are portable as hell...also cheap. I mean, i want something decent with portability and not huge a$$ laptops like 15.6" with 2.8 kg...i've had a bad experience with those 15.6" ones.

AMD HD 6250 is a very basic video card it might still be better then most intel graphics
As for the C50 It's a netbook CPU and is a lot slower than the AMD A series APUs or intels core i series CPUs
