I have very large hands and long fingers average size fingers. 4.3" phones feel laughable to me as a phone-size. 4" just feels clumsy, but I might be able to get used to it eventually. 3.5 seems to be the perfect size for me naturally. Mostly, I'm happy Apple has kept their size instead of inflating it and being like everybody else with bigger phones.

And I CAN see pixels in a lot of 'droid phones, I have VERY sharp eyes, and almost 20/10 vision with my glasses on, with them off I'm still 20/20 to about 5 feet away. For me, clarity >>> size. I wish I could actually make things smaller on my iPhone to make more fit on the same real-estate. My desktop's screens all run with font size between 8-10pt LOL!

Your hands can't be that large. My evo 3d fits fine in my hand. Also realize a lot of people use their phones as media devices where a larger screen is essential. I don't think I could ever go back to my optimus v just because of the screen size.

I don't care that it has the same form factor as the 4. I will get it eventually, most likely next month

Most common point: it looks exactly the same as the 4. No one can tell it's the newer 4S!

It wasn't really a shock since they did the 3G/S the same way. If you know you can make minimalistic (just newer tech) improvements to a product and sell millions why would you go through completely redesigning it? From a consumer (techy) standpoint the changes they made are pretty huge and once we see it in the wild that should hopefully be apparent.

The thing that I'm most disappointed in, because I don't have a phone, is that the iPods weren't updated. This is the first time in the last ~5 years I remember there not being an update. After the crappy camera they put in the touch last year I was sure they were saving up to shock us this year with an awesome camera, GPS, and other stuff.. but nope. Made a white one and that was it!
