geforce gtx 260

I did the search for overclocking for this card and didn't find anything recent along with I don't really understand the ###/###/### part. I figure it means the three things you can increase and the number they were set to but i'm currently using nvidia control panel for this and while I have read there are better things out there I don't see the need to use something else when this can generally do the same thing. My question is what is a set limit on how far to increase things...besides maxing out the card itself.

I am currently at
graphics clock: 830
memory clock: 1225
processor clock: 1680
fan speed: 61%

I am using the game "Hunted" to test this out as a general benchmark I hear some people use Crysis but I don't own that game.

In-game at medium settings i'm getting 55-56 fps and GPU heat goes to 52c but that is with alone a small amount of things happening on screen as I expect with bigger games and more detail the heat will increase and fps as usual will decrease.

This is the first time i've ever tried to overclock so trying to keep it fairly simple. I have a case with nice air flow 2 fans on the front, one on top, one on back, and one on side.

is Core/Shader/Memory IIRC

When you are overclocking you need to run something like furmark and OCCT to see the temps and check for artifacts.

I currently have the GPU temp as a pin on my screen from the nvidia console so that updates every second. As for artifacts, I have no idea what those are.

Edit: Did a search and appears they are white or at least colored pixels on your screen while in-game.

Okay I downloaded techpowerup GPU-Z as that seems like the thing everyone uses to show what they have done.

I am now at
GPU- 830
Memory- 1590
Shader- 2580

Everything is running smoothly my temp has not moved above 50c but that is just running a game and looking around I would have to get a more demanding game and the idle temp is 44-45c
