No. Just launch Steam > update and launch BF3, which "should" (the right way to do it) open Battlelog in-game. It's all up to EA/DICE to implement it that way and bypass Origin if it is activated on Steam.

EA/DICE got $45 from me for BF3 on Origin. The only reason I went for it on Origin is because I had a birthday coupon and wanted to make use of it since BF3 was "guaranteed" to not come to Steam. If they bring it to Steam, (and do it CORRECTLY) I'm more than glad to cancel my pre-order and pay $60 for it on Steam. The $15 extra should more than cover the cut that Valve makes off the sale.

Well prolly after the that tweet about losing 34k pre orders and the response from the feedback/whiners, something must have really changed overnight with the decision making.

No doubt Steam has the largest customer base and EA wants to tap that. But i dont see EA giving up on Orgin.

I'm pretty sure all the lost pre-orders could have to do with it. Regardless of the "34k" tweet being fake, thousands of people have surely dropped their preorders. People just aren't happy AT ALL with how Origin and Battlelog are working. Trust me, I'm well aware that it is a beta and that the final product will be MUCH smoother and function better. I'm just saying ,they're sure to be losing preorders over the current poor functionality. I absolutely knew (search the BF3 threads for posts by me) DICE/EA would come CRAWLING to Valve in hopes of recovering the lost sales from upset fans.

Like I posted in the deleted thread regarding the 34k lost orders

There are 12 million in the beta, probably more wanting to play it. It's going to take a hell of a lot more than 'thousands' dropping preorders.

Who says EA has 'come crawling'. Has it dawned on you that maybe Valve has gone cap in hand and said they would relax their rules for EA?

I dunno. I don't exactly see EA CRAWLING to Valve.
Valve has a LOT to gain by this possibility as well.
34k possible cancelled preorders aren't really a huge number compared to the supposed existing preorders out there.
Both companies obviously see this as mutually beneficial, but that doesn't mean EA is going to hand everything over to Valve when it comes to DRM/Origin.

Mark my words you are still going to have to use origin even if you buy it on steam. Look at ubisoft games their on steam but you still have to go through uplay, look at arkham asylum you still have to go through GFWL. Even if this is true which I am skeptical about, this is meant for the people who cannot bear to play a game unless there is a little logo of it in their steam list.

LOL I doubt EA went crawling to valve, in fact its probably the opposite especially considering this article http://www.1up.com/news/valve-boss-gabe-newell-wants-ea-games-on-steam

However that's providing this whole rumor thing is true in the first place.

Mmm I don't know, I hate to sound like a broken record, I've repeated my opinion on the matter more than several times throughout OCN. EA claims Valve is too strict about their DLC rules, yet Dirt 3 DLC sells through GFWL, completely bypassing Steam, therefor violating the so-called rules EA claims Valve are too strict on. Dirt 3 hasn't been pulled. Why? Don't give me "Dirt 3 sells so much that Valve doesn't WANT to pull it," The Sims, Crysis 2, and EA titles in general sell like drugs. What exactly are the so-called "ways" EA wants to keep in touch with their customers that EA claims Valve isn't allowing them have? Because I get news on my Steam all the time about all the games that receive updates, in ways much more streamlined and effective than the publisher communicates to me through their blog.

Quote:
Given the timing of the removals, speculation has been that exclusive DLC deals and the act of selling DLC from within the game (bypassing Steam and the cut it would receive from selling said DLC) were to blame for the games getting yanked.
