SR-2 Wattage?

Thread Starter
Planning for the future Xeon SB-E release, EVGA says they'll be releasing the next gen SR-2 very closely with the X79 chipset's date as well.

How much power would a typical SR-2 with all RAM slots filled and two fully overclocked X5680 or X5690 CPUs eat up? Assuming ZERO video card on the machine at all to feed...purely a 3D rendering node.

I'll have to add a little since the "SR-3" should likely have 16 DIMM slots and the Xeon E5-2690 is going to be a 135W part instead of the X5690's 95W TDP.

Anyway if anyone here knows what a 48GB RAM, dual 4.2+ GHz X56__ system is pulling from the wall without video cards, I'd love to get an idea!

Thanks a lot!

I remember reading on a different forum from folding that they had 500-700w pulling while running just smp client (cpu only)
