Fallout 3 vs New Vegas

Thread Starter
I have not EVER played any Fallout game before, but I am looking into one of them because they look very fun.

Although, not sure which one to get.

What are your experiences with both games?

I'd grab FO3 first, you can snag the GOTY cheap. I've sunk almost 200 hours into it and haven't finished two of the DLC yet. Hopefully by the time you're done with it, New Vegas has a GOTY or is a bit cheaper!

I absolutely loved both of the games, altough I have enjoyed New Vegas more but I am putting that down to the fact that I played FO3 on PS3 and New Vegas on PC (I don't know why)

I'd agree with both of the posters above. Grab FO3 first because you can get the core game and all of the expansions DLC dirt cheap. Then move onto New Vegas and its add-ons. Old World Blues for FO:NV is amazing!

If you enjoy the games you will be sinking a lot of time into these 2

Fallout New Vegas is vastly superior. They fixed a lot of things that I had a gripe about in FO3. It had a buggy release but it seems to be fine right now. But, with that being said, go with 3. It's cheap and will give you an alright introduction into the 3D Fallouts and the Fallout lore.

Played both with most of the DLC (except the few newest ones for New Vegas) on PC, I like New Vegas a lot more than Fallout 3, but for DLC the ones from Fallout 3 is much better than the ones for New Vegas imo. But yea you should play Fallout 3 first.

New Vegas is better. Its more FPS than the Fallout 3 was. I also like the environment a lot more.

Fallout 3.

GOTY can be had for fairly cheap and there is a lot to do. While a buggy game, its less so than new vegas.

If you enjoy it, then get new vegas.

FO3 is better than new vegas, since frankly new vegas was a reskin that was WORSE.
