ah I c,

I wonder if one would save buying dry ice vs running 3/4+ compressors.. Course running compressors is easier then having to fill heatsinks with dry ice. How often do they need a fill?

$1000 CPU? Not worth it, Either wait bulldozer or go 2600K/2500K.

And wouldn't a production rig be better with more cores?

reading in between the lines he's knocking both P67 and X79
if u really want a P67 get the 2700k or wait for the SB-E cpu's
and to be really honest P67 and X79 do have pretty disappointing features for "next gen" stuff
other than the excellent cpu's and X79's quad channel memory it's pretty meh

An 850W is fine for SLI 580's if you don't heavily overclock them and run Furmark. With 3 you will need 1200. Click the link in my signature. 3 480's pulled more than 1000W. And that is the system pull and not from the wall.

No, don't drop thousands of dollars on a platform that debuted in 2008...

Go with an i7 2700K + Z68 board.

I'm building a system right now It's sitting were the old system was price wise with an extra gpu , I'm leaning towards this build. I'm thinking I'm going to wait until the x79 debuts. as Slahtr pointed out earlier, waiting's the best bet.
