And you can't sneak up on people because they always know where you're at, no matter if they can see you or not. Ive enjoyed some more than others, but overall Id call it mediocre at best.

There's hardly any Single Player First Person Shooters that aren't like that. A very few exceptions, but generally they're all go from point A to B. Enemies know where you are at all times.
You must not play Single Player FPS games very often.
I definitely would consider you a minority, because a lot of people enjoy single player games even though they're point A to B.
