need BIOS info for Q9550 install 4 ASUS Rampage Formula

I'm getting ready to install the new Q9550 CPU, i installed my new MSI R6950 2Gb game card..WOW.!! it is really nice.

is there a >link> to BIOS settings for the Q9550.? that CPU and the ASUS Rampage Formula have been around for quite a while. there should be something reliable somewhere. i have searched around but didn't find what i was looking for. specific info i can copy into the BIOS. i dont have much experience with changing software.. it makes me really nervous, sounds like this CPU can go to 3.4 to 3.6 with no problems. i'll go higher if it's easy.

i took off all the heat tape on Mobo and put on the best Arctic Silver paste at that time. it runs really cool, it also has a bunch of copper on it. should i oc the Bridge some.? i don't really need to overclock much,

excerpt from Newegg.."Pros: Very fast and reliable CPU, been using since 12/28/2008 and just recently OC to 3.4Ghz with ease without changing voltages"
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ab=true&Page=2

i have to play Multiplater with one hand on the mouse... and a hook with
a Wolf King Game Pad on my lap. i do OK, but i have to compete with those 12 year olds on Ritalin. i could use a little extra horse power.

thanks for any felp out there....

X48 not likely to be able to push the NB speeds the Q9550 can handle on higher-end OCs, but see how far you can get with it.

I'd suggest highly to decrease your CPU multiple to 6X and find your board/RAM's max FSB. X48 NB takes alot of voltage to hit higher FSB numbers. 1.4-1.44V, make sure the NB heatsink is getting direct air, it will get hot.

thanks..

i removed all the factory heat tape from my Rampage Formula and replaced it with the best Arctic Silver paste at the time. i built a Case MOD, it is
0.65 cubic foot volume. i have a 180mm Scythe Silverstone 150 cfm fan sucking air through it.

i had to build a Plexiglas vent on the fan end to deflect the exhaust up. there is a filing cabinet beside my basement table, the wind reflected off of it and gave my mouse hand frost bite last winter when it got a little cold down here. wearing a glove playing BC2 didn't work out well.

my North Bridge temps in my digital panel were really low.. i got some Arctic Silver epoxy paste and bonded a thermocouple lead to the side of North Bridge heat sink and put foam tape over it., on the CPU chip and on the #1 Ram card's #1 chip.

i hear that you can change something in BIOS to 400, i lost the link, and get 3.4-3.5 without increasing the voltage. i have to go thru a hundred or so reviews to find it again. I'm ready to do the bios update, i got the Floppies, printed out the directions, i put the ASUS e-manual on my laptop.

when i installed Windows 7 64bit i lost the the manual over clock 'gear box' that was so handy.. I'd rather use that. it has been awhile, i forgot what it is called. i tried to reload it out of the mobo disk, wouldn't work. maybe it will work if i update the BIOS.

i built my wife a Computer, that board automatically updates the BIOS itself. and has 2 BIOS chips. this is still a really good Board, i wont be able build another as good for a long long time. this upgrade is as good as this rig can get.
