new intel build, need review

Hey guys my friend wants to upgrade from his am2 system to a sandy bridge system, and im a amd guy so im not 100% on parts for it.


attached is what i picked out, hes willing to spend 1100-1200$ on this rebuild

he wants:
GTX 570, everything else is negoible
he likes the asrock board

he will be overclocking, so a aftermarket cooler is needed frogot to put it in that shopping cart

Looks good, the PSU is a bit in the 'middle', a quality 500w would run a single 570 with no problems and a 750w would run SLI, just something to consider there. Here's a list of PSU's that you can choose from: http://www.overclock.net/power-suppl...-supplies.html

The extreme3 is a very good mobo for it's price, however, has 2 less sata ports than the extreme4, other than that it's a good choice.

The best air cooling on the market is noctua nh-d14 or the Silver arrow, not sure if that's changed as of yet. There are a few waterbased cooling like the Antec kuhler or the Corsair H series. For comparisons between them and the air cooling, head over to the sandy stable club and select the sheet, 'by cooling' to help with the comparison. The spreadsheet is available in the OP.

Meh he could just get a Xigmatek Dark Knight and save some cost, won't make much of a difference in the end vs. other air coolers.

I'd get the HAF 932 over the SS, it comes with one 200mm fan.
