Router HELP!!!

Thread Starter
Greetings, I have had problems with my internet loading web pages. Whenever I type in a website address, it says "Unable to connect" on my screen.

Now, I spam the refresh button, and it loads the web page.

Since my last PC, which was a dell, my Netgear router and Linksys modem were connected to it, and I didnt encounter any problems whatsoever.

But now, with my new gaming rig, which I built 5 months back, I always encounter this problem; I have to spam the refresh button several times to get the page to load.

What should I do, should I just get a new router? If so, what brand.
HELP Please,

THANKS!!

I would alleviate the router as the potential issue by plugging directly into your modem. If you're using a cable modem make sure to unplug the power cable and leave it off for 2-3 minutes before plugging in your computer directly. What I've seen from the support side of things is routers providing their own IP for DNS and just not providing DNS resolution. Removing your router will allow you to get DNS servers directly from your ISP.

Have you tried other browsers? If not you may try that as well. Do you have any security software installed? If so have you disabled it? Have you tried disabling windows firewall? Do you notice it with just one page or have you tried several?
