Looking to buy my First loop; TJ11 case

Thread Starter
Hi all, looking to do my first water cooling loop and my case is a TJ11. it fits all the 560mm rads i have been looking at, but dont know what one to go with. Have been looking around and forums have been saying different things about whats better. Will be buying new MOBO, RAM, and GPU, was going to go with the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130600 for MOBO and was looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231444 for RAM and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130733 for my GPU. Was going to go through FrozenCPU.com for the water cooling components, but am open to other sites.

Was looking at the swiftech MCP655 with variable control as the pump.
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/61...tl=g30c107s153
The Coolgate quad 140mm CG560 for rad or the Black Ice SR1 560 for the rad, But have been hearing the GTX560 might be better.
http://www.frozencpu.com/cat/l3/g30/...ml?id=U944WEam
No clue on what res, but am looking at one by and one by FrozenQ. I am looking more at 5.25" bay res'
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/85...?tl=g30c97s168
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/14...tl=g30c97s1110
Again no clue on tubing as to what is best. Was looking at Clear with a feser UV dye and a killcoil to go in it.
As for fittings i liked the Compression fittings more but havent read up on them yet.
Also looking at this for a fan controller http://www.frozencpu.com/products/10...?tl=g47c17s286

I'd appreciate any opinions, hoping to pull the trigger and get my loop in the next week or so.

Forget the dye, it will screw up your loop. For the tubing, go for Primochill LRT UV red tubing. The only real difference between compression and barbs is the look honestly. Get what you prefer.

Regarding the fluid, you will always get better temperatures using distilled. It has never been proven what has caused people's pre-mix/dye problems. There are several theories:

- Crap tubing which leaches plasticizer in the loop, gets caught in the blocks and gets stained from the dye.
- PT Nuke (Copper Sulfate) added to the mixture, which will react with the fluid causing separation, leading to clogging/gunk
- Fluid breaks down on its own and the particles get caught in the blocks

That said, I have been using Feser Acid Green for a few months without issue. Red and Blue seem to have the most problems, but again, it is purely speculation as to what is happening.

If you insist on a dye/pre-mix, be prepared and keep an eye on your loop. Again, I haven't had issues, but others have for who knows what reason.

That is a pretty strong statement with no backing and nothing is guaranteed in this world.

Alright, only reason i was looking at dye instead of UV tubing was I read somewhere that the UV tubing starts to dim after a while where as the dye i could restore that. So as for UV tubing Primochill is the way to go?

I've ordered some feser uv green dye and Mayhems uv green dye. I'll be doing some simple testing to see which one is more likely to separate. I've been hearing good things about Mayhems and as far as Feser, its been mixed results. My last foray into dyes ended w/ separation, clogging, and staining (Primochill dye bombs, uv red and "blood" red).

I'll be looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Any input on the component's for my loop?

Here's a list I just threw together, it encompasses more of a black theme:

Obviously you can change it up or all together

Here's a personal list of what I would piece:

I prefer the 120mm rads since you have a ton of options for fans. The 140mm rads have a slimmer fan picking unfortunately.

Don't forgot there are plenty of other shops including:

sidewindercomputers.com
jab-tech.com
koolertek.com
svc.com
etc.

Thanks for the help. I was already looking at that EK CPU block. As for the reason i was going with the 140mm Rads was the more area surface. Been reading great things on them but the fans blow like you said... so I was thinking I might get 120mm fans with an adapter to use instead. Also is that Koolance bay res any good? The reviews I saw were horrible saying it leaked and pumps were a pain to seat right and to bleed the air.

The first one (for the D5 pumps) was iffy, these new ones for the DDC and D5 tested well. Martin has a review of them, let me look for them...

Been shopping around on some of the sites you recommended and was wondering if I should order the parts from multiple sites vs one if the shipping stays cheap. Normally I try to stick to 1 site or another is why I ask.

Also thank you very much for the site recommendation. Performance-pcs.com is cheaper on almost every part compared to FrozenCPU.com
