As to the cooler it depends how much you want to spend and what amount of overclocking you want to do. The H series will look 'cleaner' and you'll see more of your motherboard, and it cools quite well. On the other hand, the 212+ cools well, but probably won't get as high clocks, anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

This is OCN, there's no such thing as total overkill! If you are going to OC your 2500k a good amount then the H100 should be fine.
