I don't know about that. I constantly get invaded by groups of people every time I'm in the forest.

Considering this game. I enjoyed Demon's Souls, but never beat it due to being busy with work/lost interest. Need an RPG to hold me over until Diablo III launches lol. Anyone try the Xbox version yet? Curious...

Well you don't really ever "beat" Demon's Souls as you have to finish the game multiple times in order to upgrade to the most powerful weapons/armor and farm the mats to do it. Dunno if Dark Souls is like that yet, but it seems that way.

If you liked Demon's Souls, you'll probably like this one too. I'd say go for it, if you like the frustrating aspect lol. Or maybe just go for skyrim if you want something more leisurely.

Oh sorry, found the katana "Iaito" when you first enter Blighttown. It's just across the platform you have to jump on the left side, straight down the path once u enter the area from the sewers. The mats are basically titante stones you can farm at the very bottom of Blighttown from some kind of worm.

Currently level 49-52, I don't know right now since I'm not on atm.

Here's a great tip for new characters, and it helped me a lot. Minor spoiler for those who want to experience the game by themselves:

When you get to bridge with the red dragon, run down and kick the ladder off to the bonfire. Then just climb back to the bridge and quickly go downstairs again; the dragon will kill all of the enemies and you'll get 300 souls. Repeat as many times as you want.

Then buy (from the merchant) short bow and many arrows and make your way under the bridge. At the right side of the bridge you can shoot the dragon's tail with your bow (make sure that you have like 12 dexterity). When you destroy the dragon's tail you'll get drake sword which has fixed attack power that is really useful for low level characters.

I discovered something pretty cool, you need the master key....

Wait for him to come up the stairs then roll off the stairs and run past him out the door. You will enter the darkroot garden area, continue running along the left side and you will hit a path that goes downward. Here you will encounter another powerful knight but just run past him or roll to dodge his attacks. At the end of a zigzag path you will find a shield, your prize. After this the knight caught up with me and I died. But when you respawn at the bonfire you keep the shield! I killed the guy at the bottom and the knight instead of running past them. The bone knight guy gives you a nice ring that increases your equip burden limit, which is helpful since I get overburdened if I go above 17/64. I haven't tried the shield yet, nice to know what it does.

Also if you run up instead of going down to the shield, there's a body with a long bow on it. If you go right instead of left when you first enter the area, there's some huge hydra thing that shoots some white plasma balls. If you get just run back right and left, he won't hit you, and will kill those ice monster things for you. There's a body all the way to the right by the water that has a full set of knights armor on it. Don't go into the water there, it's really deep and you'll just die.

I saw a hint and realized you could do this after I beat the taurus boss. I wish I had thought of it, would have made the fight go quicker.

I'm currently going to try to kill the dragon, anyone have a guess at how many arrows I'm going to need? I've bought about 400 of the cheap ones since they're more cost effective so far.

Most likely going to buy it. But I think I will pick it up for 360 instead, gotta wait for my account to get unlocked first though since it got hacked. I love the fact that it is challenging as all hell, best part of gaming lol.

Wow, seems like a few of you are beasting it up right now on the game. I've made it past Haval, the gray knight with the giant tooth looking weapon at the bottom of the tower before the Taurus demon. I used the Drake Sword and constantly back stabbed him to death and he drops an awesome ring that raises your max equip burden, it helps quite a bit for me since I can use elite knight armor now and stay under half equip burden.

So what do you guys recommend I do right now? I've beaten the bell tower gargoyles, rang the bell, defeated the Capra demon and got the key to the depths, and don't know what to do now. Should I run through and kill every one I can and get a bunch of souls and level up as much as possible? Try to find my way to Blight Town and ring the next bell? Kinda hard to figure out what to do in this game since it's not that linear like Demon's Souls, but I enjoy that. Also, I'm about lvl 18 I wanna say right now, about to get on and start playing. What kind of weapons should I go for? Is there a weapon better than the Drake Sword some where along the line? I don't even know what kind of build I'm going to want to do...

Also, lucky you guys, I've never gotten invaded I wanna fight a BP pretty bad. I'm also almost never human, how do you earn humanity? I know it can be picked up as an item and used to reverse the hollowing and then kindle your bonfires to get more Estus Flask "Charges" I guess you could call them, or drinks. But do I have to kill enough enemies with out dying to get Humanity or something?
