Is Zotac brand gtx 580's any good?

Thread Starter
Been flirting with getting a gtx 580 simply because there cheaper. $399 the 3gb version a bit more expensive. Is this brand any good? Would i get the same performance as other big name brands like evga. I know the specs on these cards are different which means they performance different but will a Zotac gtx 580 act fully like a 580 should. Even if i sli them?

Cards are great, customer service is top notch

Where you find the 3gb for $400? That's a steal since most are still over $500.
Yes indeed, also the cheapest 3GB version of the 580 you can find out of all manufacturers from what i've seen.

Make sure if you do SLI you buy a second 3GB model, otherwise you'll get the total usable GPU Vram based on the 1.5Gb model. Ie; if you want 3GB of texture vram for gaming you need SLI 3GB models.

I have a 570 AMP! but like the guy above me said their costumer service is pretty good. Got a lifetime-warranty when I registered my card and got my $30 rebate in like 6 weeks so I have no complaints. Not sure how well they OC compared to other brands, but mine does run a little hot. (maxes at 80 under full load)

I agree with everyone else. I've had zero issues with my 580 in the time I've owned it, I say you can't go wrong with Zotac

My Zotac GTX 580 Amp has been great for me. It's been a nice upgrade over my OEM GTX 460 I used before it. Zotac's customer service was there for me when I needed it also.

Good Luck

If you are talking about reference cards, they are all the same. You are just buying different customer support/warranties.

NO reference cards are not all the same IMHO.

Depending on manufactoring, companies like zotac who undersell cards by $100 e.g the 580 GTX go the cheapest possible route by cutting manufacturing costs, choosing GPU's and components that are low quality so they can sell for less.

Zotac is garbage, honestly I won't touch them or /Palit/PNY/Leadtek/Galaxy/Gainward. Reason why Zotac has a good RMA service is because their cards break down so much.

That's rediculous. Any reference model from any brand is going to be the same. The differences therefore lie in the sticker and the warranty.

Once you get into non-reference custom PCB's and cooler or inferior parts not used in the reference, then you can really start to figure out what's crap and what's not because it is no longer reference.
