My other post got taken down for cursing using acronyms and signs... lame...


long story shot purhased this card

picked it up this morning from the post office no display to the monitor but I can hear windows in the background! contacted the seller and hes acting like I'm some noob don't know which direction to go about this but i am highly upset.... he requested for me to try it one more time I haven't yet because I want some recommendations/ideas on how to completely troubleshoot the issue...

Im in the middle of "contacting" him because eBay works like that I guess really want to get the refund and neg feedback the crap out of this guy. for the extra 20 or 30 bucks I could pick it up locally at micro center... any tips on troubleshooting the card? really want to test it in a diff pc. Just to let you know he had 11 for sale and I purchased the 10th all buyers left him posotive feedback so I figured why not??? and then... shafted! it seems like all hes trying to do is protect him self too asking me stupid questions like my system specs and what psu do I have as well as not even apologizing for the obvious BRICKED card!

I read the other thread, and while I know it sucks to get bum gear (just happened to me with a 6990) please don't take it out on the seller unless you're sure he did it to you on purpose because he hates you. Things happen, bad parts go out. Obviously he wants to make sure you did everything right, people do dumb stuff and break something and then try to blame it on the seller all the time. You make it sound like YOU wouldn't protect yourself in the same situation. You're replies here were a bit heated, I can only imagine what you sent him which I'm sure makes him want to bend over backwards to help you. Gotta take a step back and realize a bad graphics card is not the apocalypse, it just sucks. Woosah and all that. Hopefully it works out well for you.

Also, on the point of giving negative feedback, while it is valid to do so he gets to rate you as well, so just remember that people are more likely to believe a high rated seller than a casual buyer.

EDIT: Just want to put so that this won't be misunderstood, you have every right to be mad about it and I'm not trying to be condescending at all, just telling it like it is

I've sold a ton of items on eBay and agree with Scorpion. Based on the seller's feedback and the appearance of his auction site, he seems like a standup guy. He only has one negative feedback in the last twelve months, and responded to that issue by refunding that buyer's money. Just politely provide him with the information he requested and let him try to troubleshoot the problem. Hopefully, he will provide you with a satisfactory solution. If not, then file a dispute.

I'm not familiar with the ASUS warranty and whether or not they honor it on cards purchased on eBay. You could also contact them and see if an RMA from them could be a possible solution.

By the way, have you tried the obvious steps of unplugging, removing, and reseating the card, or plugging the monitor cable into another port?

I had a GeForce card with 2-DVI ports. It behaved just like you're describing, if I plugged a single monitor into port #2. The thing was, it was my first dual port GPU, and it wasn't clearly marked which one was port #1. You try switching ports?
