I'm just gonna wait til Black Fridays til a lot of monitors go on sale. Cheaper that way cuz you never know that they will pull at NewEgg and Tiger. Nothing is really appealing for me to buy right now. I can wait.

Eyefinity resolutions are another thing, they may not be supported, or might, we don't know, but as far as single monitor resolutions go, they are guaranteed to be supported. There's some fear that this might be a rare exception for eyefinity support (not working that is) due to certain elements.

@pwnt4life: What do you seek in the monitor? What is the budget?
woops wrong thread. lol . anyways I was searching for info on Skyrim 2560x1600 support and only found people saying it probably won't be supported since Oblivion wasn't. It makes sense that it would be supported, but I just wanted to make sure.

But... oblivion was supported on 2560x1600. In fact, oblivion supports any resolution you can set your monitor(s) to just fine.

You're thinking of morrowind, which didn't support widescreen without patches, and is a very old game, too old to matter.

If you will use your monitor for gaming. Buy a 16:9 display.
16:10 is just so outdated. In 16:10 you either lose Field Of View or get a letterbox.

The games that does not suport 16:10 are increasing rapidly. In a short amount of time the majority of the games will not support 16:10.

Here are some examples of games that does not support 16:10.

2009
Mirrors Edge

2010
Blacklight: Tango Down
WRC FIA World Rally Chamionship 2010

2011
Assassins Creed Brotherhood
Alice: Madness returns
Bastion
Bulletstorm
Driver: San Francisco
Dungen Siege 3
Dungeons
Gatling Gears
Ghostbusters: Sanctum Of Slime
Limbo
Monday Night Combat
Ninja Blade
Pro Evulotion Soccer 12
Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
Shank
Splinter Cell: Conviction
Witcher 2 (Before patched after many months)

16:9

Welcome to the land of 16:10

Loss in Field Of View

Letterbox

Deformity

Hydros, half of those games can be fixed, loss of field of view is minor, and a trade off from image clarity if on the same resolution tier (at least on the horizontal axis), movies are mostly 2.35:1, so even 16:9 will have letterboxing. Not to mention that most people don't just spend all their precious time gaming, so an argument that applies to gaming only (and even then its only preference) is not very appealing to anyone but you.
The gained desktop space of 1920x1200 compared to 1920x1080 is a much nicer thing to have. Besides, you can letterbox 1920x1200 to run 1920x1080.

But that is irrelevant since it's unlikely the OP will end up on 1920x1200 anyway, from what I gather from his budget. You had no reason to post that post, it is unrelevant to the topic at hand.
