That's only recently. What about 5 or 10 years ago when you had plenty? You still have more money than India or Japan has yet won't build a space program. The money isn't the problem, it's the lack of interest in space science for some reason.

That's because instead of just continuously relying on raising the debt ceiling, we're actually trying to pay off the debts. This involves spending less, not more.

I think spending 1 billion Euros on this is foolish when people are losing their jobs left, right and center due to budget cuts.

Maybe they'll finally be able to disable the overclock settings on that thing. Space-vacuum cooling didn't quite work.
