cons to buying used 3007 wfp-hc?

Thread Starter
I'm thinking of picking up a used one for around $700, but it won't have a warranty. Do these monitors tend to be maintenance free/have few dead pixels? Would you do it?

Nope. Warranty makes a product. If it screws up, you're out 700$ >< Unless you got money to blow

If you end up buying one, arrange a meet up with the seller somewhere and make sure it works. Examine it for like 10 minutes or more on different kinds of displayed images and colors to check for backlight issues, dead pixels, or scratches.

Ask the seller about the condition of the thing before this.

If that worked out fine, the thing should be in decently good shape, and good to go for quite some time in the most likely scenario. However, if it happens to fail for whatever reason, you don't have any warranty. That's the biggest downside.

Would I do it? But I did do it? I got a HP LP3065 (for the most part it's the same as the 3007wfp-hc with a few minor differences) for half the price of any unused 30" monitor in finland (that limits it to the u3011 and zr30w), because I couldn't spend any more money on a monitor than I did here, so I would've been forced to go u2410 level otherwise.
Perfect condition too, zero scratches or malfunctioning pixels. It's quite likely for used ones to have at least one or two malfunctioning pixels or scratches.

I would only do it if you aren't absolutely dependant on the monitor not failing on you and are able to carefully inspect the product before hand. This is just common buying used sense.

You can find 3007's for as low as $400 if you look for a bit.

Can anyone compare the AG coating on this monitor to the newer U series?

i got a zr30w for $735 with 3 year warranty. took me 2 weeks to find one.

the 3007 wfphc is probably a great monitor but 700 is too much. on my quest of looking for a 30" i saw some for 700 but passed. 30" monitors are delicate.

Please do share! Unless it was a local one-time deal.
