The game has no monthly subscription to answer those that are asking. I have been following the news releases religiously, and there has been no mention that they will instate a monthly fee anytime soon. Although it will eventually make its way back, i would imagine when the new team leader decides the fixes are in place that make this game what it should be and what it should have been.

If you guys are interested, which a lot of people seem interested i can see what i can do about making this official and we can get an OCN linkshell going on, on a specific server. I didn't expect this thread to blow up ha ha, but the changes that have came and ones that will come are very good changes. The new team leader has done well with the mess he was handed.

EDIT:Will be adding a poll as to which server you guys would like to start an OCN linkshell on.

Was so shocked at how bad the game was when I first played it, I just~ I don't know. I don't see any inspiration in this game other than FFXI. It's like SE didn't even bother looking at the temperature with MMOs and actually add to the game. It's so pretentious.

Like, FFXI was all that mattered and thus, as a new FFXIV let's ignore all sorts of user interface concepts, and streamlined combat and actions and travel and let's stick with the same clunky mechanics as we've always enjoyed in our nearly decade old game.

Add the fact I had to run a hack just to get the mouse to work properly, and the game runs worse than Battlefield 3 on my system and it's just, such a horrible taste in my mouth... I don't know if I could ever give it another shot.

Heck, just watching that movie made me wonder if I was looking at a new Final Fantasy game or FFXI with new graphics. :/

Can I even drag and drop skills from the menu into my quick slots? Or am I relegated to playing a console mmo on my PC and having to tab through menus just to switch?

I was interested in buying this game when it first released but I was drawn back by the reviews by alot of sites. I have a few questions as I used to play FFXI.

Is the game soleable? As the one thing that killed me about FFXI after awhile is that you have to group up(I spent hours looking for party on FFXI on my Dark Knight back in the days).

How is the combat? Is it more fast paced?

Is it too late to start now?

Are you integrated with the JAP crowd or is there just a US only server?

Also do you guys think my rig can handle the game in ultra or high graphics?
Thanks for the answers in advance.

I'm also interested in checking it out. At release it was absolutely horrid and I couldn't get past the menu-based UI. I think they have changed it (if only slightly). Now the problem is where can I find a copy?
