Yeah it seems it. Been looking up info about FF14 even though its getting totally rebuilt thought i would check out the classes and such who knows maybe some of it will make its way into 2.0 lol

I hope crafting makes it way just as it was.

All materials were readily available in the markets.

However, if you got tired of grinding through leves, going and gathering your own materials was a good break, and also a way to bring up your other classes. If you wanted a bardiche. You would have to go out and mine raw materials, which was you mining class. You then had to get yourself leather straps, certain stones, and different oils. Which may have made you fish, hunt for dodos. Then you would have to use those respective jobs to reduce those items into what you were making. It was quiet fun.

Once they doubled the crafting speed, and made it so that you knew which each color of your synthesis was, it was easy as heck. Once they added the market search system, all you had to do is search for what you were looking for and then bought it, you didn't have to search each and every character for what you specifically wanted.

Too bad the yellow gremlin site is no more. sad-smiley-002.gif

Best to have both options i think, not everyone will want to spend hours and hours doing something like that. I for example, i will spend time doing the actual work myself but other times i just cant be bothered so going on Auction House type things to buy mats quickly to finish off items and such

Maybe I didn't express that enough. Both options were available in the first version and I hope they both get carried over.

14 was my first MMO outside of perfect world. I only played that a few weeks though.

I try to stay my best out of the discussion in this entire thread partly because of that, and party because a lot of what has been said, and what will be said about this version. Like the last, will be held up to other games standards.

Which I never had to deal with. At all. Being that it was my first MMO, there was nothing wrong in the beginning, and imo, it only became a much easier game as people complained. I am in the alpha, and I honestly think its a very changed game. Which is basically all that I would like to say at this point.

Outside of the graphics. Which, when I can, I will be posting screen shot comparisons between the first version, and hopefully what will be the new game. Understanding that this is alpha at this point. But between this alpha, and the first iteration of the game. Efficiency aside, this game looks dismal compared to how the first version did.

Yes, more peoples computers can run it. But I specifically remember square saying before the first version even came out, the game was designed with the next several generations of hardware in mind, and that it would take a very powerful system to run. Why anyone thought that a 4850/8800 (myself included had a 4890 when it came out) and a duel core was going to run the game well, was besides me. This obviously was considered a failure across the board by many people. That much I can understand. It however was a graphic marvel, when you had a decent build, and only ran better when Kepler came out.

Sorry about my horrible grammer.

I absolutely loved FFXI... And I agree that while Abyssea was fun for a bit, it definitely put the nail in the coffin on FFXI for me (until the next expansion) as I finished everything I ever imagined I would finish in the course of a few weeks. From then on it was just spending time with the social LS before finally pulling the plug. What I can say so far about 2.0a is that after several days of playing that it indeed looks, and more importantly feels like an extension of FFXI (which is what we all really wanted from the beginning). They are recapturing the magic that was FFXI and putting a nice polish on it and the difficulty is there if you go looking for it. So far I am loving the quests and overall mechanics... hard to explain in any sort of detail without getting in trouble. tongue.gif

I'm down to tackle some endgame content. The alpha is amazing so far, can't wait to see what beta brings.
