Yeah your correct my friend, cpu works harder at lower resolution and GPU takes most of load at higher res.

Not true, look at the charts I just posted, there is hard evidence there that this is not the case.

No,No its not,its due to GPU power being exhausted.

EDIT:

please bump this thread so we get more opinions on the bottlneck situation COMPS has stated.

Crysis Warhead then: we up the ante a little more by enabling DX10.

Level: Ambush
Codepath: DX10
Anti-Aliasing: 2x MSAA
In game quality mode: Gamer

Above, single card and SLI scaling are impressive, but 3-way SLI not so much. Yep, that's clearly a CPU limitation once again.
Stupid white text to make my post

Again, the very same settings, DX10, very high image quality and eight AA samples. NVIDIA opened up a can of driver performance in Far Cry 2, leading performance but CPU bottlenecked at 1920x1200. Let's check out an extremely GPU bound title.

I was in the same boat, i had 350Euro to spend on an upgrade, so i made these choices after A LOT of looking and reading...

AsRock p67 Fatality Pro

and

Intel i5-2500k

Very happy with both, the mobos for around 120-180 are VERY VERY good, some others i were looking into were

Asus Sabertooth p67

and

MSI - P67-GD65 (b3)

They all come in very close, and when they score similar in almost everything then it comes down to aesthetics and brand preference, 've only heard good things about ASUS and have very good experience with MSI, but the ASROCK boards are amazing for the price and they look fantastic!

Its a hard choice, but any choice is a good one!

Well i had a 5770 on an old athlon x2 @ 2.7ghz (or somet like that) and that used to bottleneck my cpu at 1440x900(some res close to that) but i would imagine what comp is sayin is true, either way it doesnt matter cause i use my card at 1920x1080

I heard good things about the AsRock, just i used to work in a pc shop where AsRock board came in quite often for replacement, but this was a few years ago (about 4/5 years ago infact) so things will have changed i guess

I will have a look now though thanks

I can keep quoting things out of the review.... Either way, we digress from the real reason for the thread, even though I think we've resolved that issue
