We'll, at least I am not alone xD

I keep telling this to my bud a while ago.. Told him that it's a law of diminishing return thing.. (and lighting would be one of the most important when everything else's been ramped up).

Better, more variety of animations and dialogues would make much more of an impact IMO, than even the current implementation of tess. (Not too much real noticeable difference when the objects are pretty "decent" any way and tess. just makes them more FAT noticeably).

Just how my parents and relatives don't notice any "quick" look difference with a moving game in "high" to "very high" settings in Crytek's games.

Like others have mentioned...
Perhaps if Crytek didn't waste resources on things such as invisible tessellated water, graphics would look better. I really hate it when companies pull these things out of their ass. Anyway, if there's a Crisis 3 or whatever I'm not buying it.

He directly contradicts his earlier statements with this last sentence.

It's obvious he's just trying to defend his company's decision to take crysis to consoles. Crysis 2 should have been a giant leap forward in graphics technology. Instead, it didn't even measure up to Crysis Warhead.

Now we have games like Rage made by iD (who realize that you have to continue pushing PC technology in order to further the gaming industry as a whole) showing us the disparity between consoles and PCs in terms of graphics.

Another thing to keep in mind; 9x more processing power may only increase visual fidelity by 50% in Crysis 2, because the entire engine was designed to run on a console, whereas Crysis 1 was designed to run on a PC only. The engine is just as important as the raw processing power when making these comparisons.
Crysis 2 is the game with THE best visuals out of every single game out there. Just saying.

I tought that title went to Metro 2033? I don't have Crysis 2 so I can't compare the two. Though this ussually comes down to personal prefference.

No way that's true. I own both and have played both, but honestly one is not hands down better than the other. It's for that simple fact that people were disappointed in Crysis 2; that game WAS supposed to be hands down better than the first, but the fact that it's debatable is why people haven't been crazy about it.

The law of diminishing returns exists but when one sees the blurry pixelated skyboxes of WH40K: Space Marine you instantly know we're a long way away from that.
I'm sure if the engine was designed strictly for PC you could throw in 5x as many polygons than any console could handle.. 50% better is a very low number for them to claim. yes PC's look 50% better than Console PORTS due to upscale res, newer shader model, and things like MLAA. this is just Cryteks excuse for release a lame console port.

Well Crytek has already proven time and time again that they are deceitful shameless liars (even for a game developer).
