Need to build a new computer for Skyrim

Hey everyone, I'm new here and I have very little knowledge about hardware. I've been a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls games since Morrowind. The thing I love most about them though is the amazing mods made by the community and modding the game myself, which always ends up being far more demanding on a system than the vanilla game. So with that said, I need to build a computer that can not only meet the recommended system requirements, but destroys them.

Here are the predicted recommended system requirements:
OS: Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7
CPU: Core 2 Quad 3 GHz
RAM: 3 GB
HDD: 15 GB free disk space
Graphics: 512 MB Graphics Memory
Sound Card: DirectX 9 Compatible
DirectX: Version 9.0c

Can anyone suggest a good system for me please? Let's say hypothetically my budget is $2000 to build it, but cheaper is better if possible. Also, from previous experience the editors for this family of games is very RAM hungry so decent RAM is a must. Thanks for any help

Ok well

Not sure of currency etc

I'd try something like this

Corsair HX650

GTX570

i5 2500k

4Gb of memory, go for some 1600mhz @ 9-9-9-24

Asus P6Z68-M i think it is, it's about 125 GBP

Pick a case, any case

Western Digital 1TB Black

If you want an SSD then I think the Vertex 3's are quite good.

Do you need a screen?

I would also invest in some cheapish aftermarket cooling, the Coolermaster Hyper 212+ is epic for it's price.

What are you running right now? I bet, with certainty, a good Sandy Bridge 2500k/8Gb DDR3-1600/SSD/Seasonic-Corsair build will be recommended.

Which I recommend too Show us a website you'll be ordering from, don't want to show you U.S. prices or a site that doesn't ship over the pond.

OK so after looking around I have decided that instead of aiming just to be able to play Skyrim which comes out this year, I should go a bit more extreme and build something that I won't have to worry about upgrading for a while. So here is the list of parts I am considering. All of these parts were found on www.pccasegear.com and all prices are in Australian dollars. Also if I missed anything could someone tell me what lol. Any ideas/suggestions or advice would be appreciated

Corsair Vengeance CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9B 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 $159
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition $159
2x HIS Radeon HD6950 2GB IceQ (2x $289) $578
Corsair Force Series 3 90GB SSD $189
Western Digital Green 3TB WD30EZRX $179
LG BH10LS30 10x Blu-ray Disc Writer $99
Corsair Hydro Series H100 CPU Cooler $169
CoolerMaster HAF X Case $209
CoolerMaster Silent Pro Gold 1000W $229
ASUS Crosshair V Formula Motherboard $279
ASUS VE247H 23.6in Widescreen LED Monitor $195
