So here is the list of parts I am considering. All of these parts were found on www.pccasegear.com and all prices are in Australian dollars. Also if I missed anything could someone tell me what lol. Any ideas/suggestions or advice would be appreciated

Corsair Vengeance CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9B 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 $159
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition $159
2x HIS Radeon HD6950 2GB IceQ (2x $289) $578
Corsair Force Series 3 90GB SSD $189
Western Digital Green 3TB WD30EZRX $179
LG BH10LS30 10x Blu-ray Disc Writer $99
Corsair Hydro Series H100 CPU Cooler $169
CoolerMaster HAF X Case $209
CoolerMaster Silent Pro Gold 1000W $229
ASUS Crosshair V Formula Motherboard $279
ASUS VE247H 23.6in Widescreen LED Monitor $195
Get a Phenom II x4 965 instead. The 6 core won't really do anything more. Save your money for Bulldozer this month.

I think I will go for the dual 6950's option after all. So will I need the 1000W PSU to run this setup or what else do you recommend?
That's it fella,

You're good to go, and yes, I would stick with the 1kw PSU, you could get away with an 850w but tbh, there isn't really much difference in cost. The PSU you have picked is epic anyway.

I'd expect about 75% - 80% load on that PSU so.

Nothing wrong with ATI drivers, they are very good. The beat nvidia down on triple screen gaming easily.

GTX580 is a lovely card though, but it eats power. Also, that's $600, two 6950's will outperform it for the same money

As for the memory, that's true, but he might be using other applications that'll utilize it that he's not told us about.

Comps
The 580 will use much less power than the 5990 he listed on getting.

Some games will not be better if crossfired/SLI, it can cause problems. Also, some games wont even utilize it. A single card solution is always better than a dual card solution.

That may be true, but prices for ram are fairly cheap now. Might as well stock up. I have 16 GB on my Z68 board and 24GB on my X58 board.

Considering he isn't getting a 6990 but dual 6950's ;-) and a single card solution isn't always better than a dual card solution.

My thoughts exactly. Just make sure to install a 64-bit OS!

I am inclined to agree with the 850w PSU.... The only justifable reason for the 1KW is dual 580s.
