Save your money.

Spend it on a bigger TV, a faster desktop, bigger/better speakers, or food.
You're completely right for the things you listed. Fortunately, I do a lot more with my phone. Multitasking for one, Heavy site browsing, etc. Then again, just like your "nicer speaker" argument, what does a nicer speaker give you? A...nicer listening experience? How about a nicer screen for a better phone viewing experience. A nicer camera for a better picture experience? A phone that can run the newer and nicer OS's? Exactly.

BTW, I rarely see such stawman tactics as you seem to enjoy.

Also you Android sheep are pretty bad. Almost as bad as iPhone sheep. You have to give credit where it's due.

Android in 2007(when I first heard about it.) Before the iPhone launch. Notice that it's a lot like Blackberry who was the leader at the time. Android is a good OS but you can't deny that iOS had a lot of impact on it.
I don't think anyone was saying anything about iOS not influencing android in this thread? Did I miss it, or did this post not have a point besides getting the flame bait out?

no micro-sd slot kills it for me~
no point really IMO as I can already easily fill up my whole 16GB on my Atrix
I also like swapping out micro-sd's out and around from my tab to phone or vice versa~

No micro-sd is a bummer, but you could use dropbox or something similar. Even though you gotta deal with limited data, and wifi connection, it's a start

Anyway, anyone have hints on when this device will release for CAD? I'm hoping it won't be like the nexus s when it was released months after the US date, and I'm super desperate for a new phone since I don't have one.

already use dropbox....but thing is movies and stuff; sometimes when I'm on the go and I don't want to use my tab I just grab the microSD and drop it in~nice easy and fast

if I sync up to dropbox; that'll take time to upload then to redownload to another device

Well hopefully they do fix the mistakes they made with the nexus s, excluding the no micro sd: compass issues, longer battery life, and color settings.

Anyone care to speculate the price range for the device? I hope it'll be less than the 16gb iphone 4s, perhaps around 550-600 range.

Guess I'm going to have to rely more on cloud computing if the Nexus Prime doesn't come with a micro SD slot. I'm already using Google Music to stream all my music (which I love BTW) and Dropbox for misc. files. Looks like Picasaweb is next for all my photos and videos.

A quote from android forums:

One more thing. This is up to you if you want to share it with the guys or not. The phone I was using had a Texas Instruments OMAP 4460 clocked at 1.5 GHz. That was one of the 4 false specs on BGR (clock speed).

Some might be disappointed, so it's up to you if you want to share it. But it was really fast and had incredible graphics on gaming, at least in my opinion.

Thanks again, Steve. Great job on the forum.
For reference, the Droid Bionic is using an OMAP 4430 clocked at 1 ghz and gpu is SGX540 clocked at 300mhz. OMAP 4460 is 1.5 ghz with a SGX540 at 384mhz

Android Forums also peg the Prime to have a 1.5 GHz OMAP 4460 with an SGX540 bumped to 384 MHz. Some say this increase in clock speed will put the 540 to the level of the 543MP2.

I already put that in the post above you And I HIGHLY doubt it will match the 543MP2.

Yeah, didn't notice it sorry.

Regarding the validity of the TI OMAP, let's just see. I was hoping for an Exynos 4212 so the 540 sounds like a buzzkill IMO. But if the clock bump is as good as it sounds, then sure let the benchmarks do the talking.
