gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3/UD5 vs asus sabertooth 990 fx

im planning a build for 8 core bulldozer with a single video card (6950), might crossfire later if needed. link: http://www.overclock.net/amd-general/1131139-bulldozer-build.html#post15147626

so basically, which one is better? the ud3 or the sabertooth. I mean in terms of overclockability/sound and overall performance/issues.

ud3: 130 euros with shipping
ud5: 160 euros with shipping
sabretooth: 150 euros with shipping

I'd go with the sabertooth just because of the 5 year warranty it has, it's built solid!!!!!!

i'd also like to know which has the overall better build quality, like capacitators, how much capacitators there are for the cpu, etc.

@robbiq wow 5 years? thats impressive!

edit: whats with those solid and japanese capacitators? which are better/ more reliable?

right now im leaning towards the sabertooth. it has more pci lanes than the ud3 and it looks better, especially with a tfiii in there.

5 years of warranty is also attractive

it has the new uefi instead of the older bios

only thing im worried about is reliability/overclockability/longlivety of the boards

so, overall the sabertooth is better? cuz the ud7 is exactly the same as the ud3 ad ud5, the only difference is the amount of video cards you can put in, but the ud7 is 200+ euros and the sabertooth is 140, so shouldnt the ud3 be better than the sabertooth?

any one of those mobos is a good choice but imo I would go for the Asus. Specially if you can get it at a lower price than the others.

Those UD boards look insane. They make any build look great.

I'm an asus fan personally so I would go for the sabertooth but thats just me.

If a Sabertooth is so cheap then definitely go with it.

I was asking myself the same question. I chose the UD3 board. Looks wise the ASUS boards look like steaming pile.... that aside I am an avid ASUS fanboy. I love their boards and have used only them untill now. if your going to OC the daylights out of your stuff to the point of breaking the ASUS board is better. However if your just going to a normal OC the UD3 board is great!
