for now the best bang for buck gaming cpu from AMD is Phenom 955 (CHEAPER, FASTER, COOLER, RUNS WELL, OVERCLOCKS WELL)
but if u turned 2 cores off the x6 then all the 955 has is cheaper and a x6 isnt even expensive anyways lol

I got the x6 because it was only about 20$ more for 2 extra cores. So I said, why not future-proof a bit and get the extra cores. Now I know I should have gone with more ram.....

Start playing with VM's, good learning experience. You never know what you might end up using Linux for. I had fun with it for a while, then just got bored and went back to the sheeples choice.

For now, might as well Fold. You can set your rig to fold on just 2 cores you know. Then you get your nifty little Folding Postbit, participate in the contests and whatnot, and do something good for mankind.

Once again...

You could run Cinebench all day.

Pretty much no purpose for an X6 except for a budget video editing rig which is an oxymoron. Anyone who edits/encodes professionally has an i7.

I know, I know, I've gone though this many times with other people. My PSU started to fry when the draw hit 500w, I mean, literally fry. You could smell it burning anywhere in the room. I shut it off and dropped the OC after that. I think I know why I can't get a good overclock on this cpu. It's probably because my PSU isn't supplying enough volts when I up the volts.

-EDIT- What are VM's?
