I imagine ripster's dwelling as a 24/7 keyboard photo shoot, as he has pictures of keyboard parts for every occasion.

Thread Starter

Lightroom and 3TB of WD Black goodness.

These two in the OCN Mechanical Keyboard Guide I'm especially proud of.

Brilliant way to make illustrate the difference between spherical and cylindrical keycaps.

Wish I could find that magnet in the first one. From my buddy Farraday and Lenz.

But we digress.... don't report me for being OT.

LOL, ripster and you used to poke fun at OCN on GH threads.

No offense, but I have learned to get used to (or ignore) your wacky, sarcastic and at times ignorant remarks and look at your positive side. Too bad not everyone at GH was able to accept you as who you are lol.

All you can do is avoid them.

EDIT - but to their defense, you pretty much had it coming with the OP you created. I could have told you that would happen. Saying that TWO mechs didn't appease you, and then saying a G19 was "perfect" is pretty much a perfect storm. I am surprised they didn't come after you harder TBH.

What, our of curiosity, is your definition of "elitist"? Having a keen interest in something and doing research about it? I'll be the first to agree that the people in the OP's thread were a bit hostile, but that doesn't constitute "elitists". I'm really tired of seeing this "insult" everywhere I look.

Threads like that and this are why I like the internet.

You guys ever try a Keytronics board? Few years back Max Pc had used it in one of their dream machines. A solid keyboard that takes a beating and keeps on going. Not to sound too elitist but I have a Razor Lycosa. A piece of junk in my opinion. Only lasts a few years before the keys squeak and the lights go crazy. Keys too tightly packed for guys with average to big hands. So I replaced it with a Logitech G510 and man what a nice keyboard with just enough spacing. Only thing is keys aren't sensitive enough to pressure. I might have to RTFM to figure out why. Also came with a nice oil smudge on space bar but I don't care. Going to pick up a few more anyhow. Not going to be picky..

Keytronics are excellent rubber dome boards. I'm typing on one at work right now.

I'm no elitist!

having an educated opinion on something does not make one elitist. it's even worse on the audio threads.

A: My turtle beach/razer headset surround sound rockz and is totally high quality! It's the first one i've ever bought so i clearly know what i'm talking about.

B: Surround sound is a gimmick and if you try a proper headphone like ________ ____________ or __________, you can see the difference in quality.

A: You're such an elitist!

It is probably from how the caps fit on the cherry switch. A small portion in the center of the key cap rests on the switch.

A rubber dome key cap has a wider weight distribution with the rubber "switch." A cherry switch key cap would feel more relatively rocky from side to side imho.

It's more to do with the manufacturing tolerances on the keycaps, when it comes to Cherries. My Noppoo has very, very little key wobble.
