OCN Ducky LED color

Thread Starter
Hello,

I'm looking to buy a mechanical keyboard. I've been researching for a week now. I have my eyes set on the OCN edition Ducky 1087 Tenkeyless ABS keycaps. I only have two questions:

1. What color are the LEDs on this Ducky? I'd like blue LEDs to match my current setup.

...and...
2. Just a confirmation... I game and code... code and game... and my wife occasionally uses the computer. I've read that Browns are the best middle ground, but do any of you use black or reds for both typing and gaming? Is it worth it to sacrifice the tactile feedback for better gaming?

Thank you for the feedback. I'm looking forward to participating in this forum.

PS: I play mostly FPS, but my computer is more of a general use computer. No pro gaming of any kind.

Yes, I meant the caps and scroll lock keys. I'm sorry for not specifying this. However, in the future, please ask for clarification before responding like an a$$hat.

Thanks for the information,

They are blue. I have an OCN DK-1087, so I know this for sure.

I have keyboards with Brown, Black and, Blue switches and I definitely prefer the Browns for both gaming and typing over the Black and Blue switches. The tactile bump on Browns isn't very noticeable and won't negatively affect your gaming in any way imo. I don't like the stiffness of Black switches, they fatigue my fingers especially my left pinky from pressing shift, ctrl, and alt. I don't like Blue switches as much because they have too much of a tactile bump for my tastes. I have used Red switches and I like them a lot(I'm actually planning on buying a board with Red switches soon), but I think the Brown switches are a safer bet for someone who hasn't been able to try any switch because they offer a little more resistance/stiffness compared to the Red switches which many people may feel are too light.

That being said, everyone is different and some people prefer Black switches over everything for gaming and typing and the same thing can be said for Blue switches and some people prefer to use different switches for gaming and typing. At the end of the day only you can decide which switch fits your needs best, but imo Browns are the safest bet.

Thanks HWI for your post! I was hoping for a post like this.

It is decided then, a Ducky 1087 with browns is the one I'm getting.

Thanks!

Honestly being rude like that when still new in the forums will not get you far. Be a little more thoughtful in how you respond. Otherwise its likely that when you need help at some point you will end up still needing help.
