Sent from HTC Sensation

Everyone was expecting something FAR more impressive than what was delivered.

Good business is all about managing expectations.

Tbh It's pretty much what I expected them to release. Updated camera, better cpu, HD video etc. Only thing that surprised me was they called it 4S and didn't change the chassis. It's just the iPhone 3 to 3GS **** all over again.

The hardware refresh was as good as could be expected (besides perhaps not more RAM) and the software is a HUGE update. Also, a big push of Apple right now is the foreign markets. They're doing just fine locally.
I agree, the software is going to be big. Oh, and it's not improbable that we'll see 1GB of RAM, but we'll have to wait for the iFixIt tear-down.

Well, let's see... it's got 1080p video and a brilliant camera, it's got a dual-core CPU which is up to 2x faster and a dual-core GPU which is up to 7x faster, you've got dual antennas and Siri. It's got massive improvements.

Can't you wait at least a week before making your decision? The Nexus Prime is just around the corner. biggrin.gif

The 4S is a big yawn - not worth the cash for the "upgrade". Sure it has a dual core processor - but taking two weak, slow processors and smashing them together just creates something that is slightly less weak than what they had before.

If Apple wanted to do it right - they would have pushed out a 4G phone, because everyone has been waiting for 4G for what, two or three years already?

I'm not holding my breath for a 4G phone. I live between two major metropolitan areas and there's not a lick of LTE coverage here. Apple will put it in the iPhone when it's actually going to be used and when it's efficient to do so. The rest of what you posted is just silly.

Where on earth did you get that idea? Almost every spec on it is significantly better than on the iPhone 4, yet alone any prior models. Camera, video, CPU, GPU, (likely) RAM, antennas, Siri, etc.

First, Apple doesn't rush new technology -- especially when it has problems such as considerable power consumption (or thickness). Last, Apple claims speeds on par with droid smartphones touting 4G: 14.4Mbps down compared to the 7.2Mbps/down of the iPhone 4.
