I'm trying to get the best bang for my buck. 300. - Page 3

You can get a 6970 for 300 bucks.... And if you do it right you can get a nice card for cheap. My 6950 was only $210 after a coupon and rebate.

That sapphire 6970 is nice, but I kind of prefer non-reference cards with aftermarket cooling etc, so I was able to snag up a 6950 TFIII today from NewEgg and HOPEFULLY I'll be able to unlock and OC it seeing the recent success rate of them.

You can ... BUT since your TOXIC remained LOCKED ... it will run like 2x's HD-6950's X-fired.

IF the TOXIC had UN-Locked ... then it would be 2x's HD-6970's X-fired.

6950 2gb. You stand a chance at unlocking into a 6970, too, which is more powerful than the 570.

So basically, it's stuck between the MSI R6950 -http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127575
and the Sapphire 6970 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102918.
I'm new to overclocking, and haven't done it yet, so the stock settings on both; The 6970 wins. But, what do you guys suggest out of those two cards?

I recommend out of those two, the Sapphire 6970 b/c it's the 6970 and it's 2GB. If the MSI was the 2gb variant then I would say depends on if you like higher quality components in a non-ref model.

I meant to link the 2gb model. The 299 one. I just want a card that's gonna run amazingly. And the Sapphire card fits my build color amazingly.

NO BRAINER ... the 6970 if it's within your budget !

THAT MSI HD-6950 isn't even the BEST MSI 6950 they make ... this one is ... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127575

EDIT: OH ... ok better but STILL a NO BRAINER ! The Sapphire IS a 6970 ... and you'd be buying the MSI hoping to turn a 6950 into a 6970 ... and they're almost the same price, so DUH !

I have the TOXIC 6950 and unlocked it to the 6970 so trust me you will LOVE that Sapphire HD-6970 .

I don't wanna go to a 6870. I want either a 6950, or 6970. It's between the R6950 TF III 2gb, or the Sapphire 6970 2gb.
