AC Accelero Xtreme Plus II

This is the cooler I have on my 580. Keeps it MUCH cooler than stock, and is veeerrryyyy quiet. Just make sure you can fit it in your case smile.gif

that's weird, cause my reference cards, in SLI aren't that loud, with fans at 70%.

1.) check airflow, and place a fan blowing cold air unto the video card.
2.) Get good headphones, so you can't listen to your rig, and you don't wake up those around you while playing.
3.) Custom fan profile with afterburner to whatever is tolerable.
4.) try adding some sound dampening material in your case, helps.

If you're complaining with a reference cooler, the 570 HD and 570 HD DS are a lot louder. Something is wrong with your set-up
Shhh!

I think I've got plenty of air flow. One 220mm fan on the card side, one 120mm on the back blowing in. 2 120mm fan on top blowing out, and one 120mm on the other side blowing in on the back of the cpu. Ive got the cpu liquid cooled.

What percentage does everyone elses fan run at to keep it in the 70's? I have to make my curve so that the fn hits about 70% to keep it from going into the 80s.

I actually did get the curve set a little better last night, but the way I had it, the card was gaining about 6c with the curve. I've got a buddy that's been into this longer then me. I'll have him come over and just let me know if gaming rigs are just loud like this.

You don't need to worry about keeping it in the 70s, I would try and tune it to the low-mid 80s if you're having a noise problem. The GF110 chip in your 570 is specified with a max temp of 97C by Nvidia, so I personally would keep it less than 87C but below that you can tune the fan speed to your ear's desire.

If I'm alright in the 80s then I should be able to calm the fan down some. I just won't be able to make my card any faster. It looks like 850mhz is where it will stay.
The only problem is that when I add another card I'm assuming the heat will go up some more. How much heat does SLi add? Another 5c or so?

Depends on your airflow really. I average around 42C for my top card idle and 39C for my bottom card, which gets cool air from the bottom case fan pulling cooler air in. The heat from the top of the bottom card gets into the fan of the top card and increases temps slightly. At load, I'll average around 74C for the top card and 67-69C on the bottom card. So, yes, about 5C.

I have my fan curve set pretty generous on fan speed %. Doesn't bother me much as I play with a headset. thumb.gif Good luck!

I have a few more questions. I got to reading more about my specific 570, and it looks like the model number I have may have the 470 pcb and cooler. I'm not sure though, I seen that on one of the many bad reviews this card got on newegg. 30% gives it 5 eggs while 30% gives it 1. No other card had that bad of reviews.

Has anyone else had this card to compare it to another 570?

Look at the back of the card. Are there two big holes cut out of the PCB? If not then you don't have a 470 PCB.
