I really don't care for an HD monitor tbh, would much rather stick here for several reasons.

Well at least look into it, medium - even low - settings on 1080p will outshine ultra on 1360x768 by a LONG shot.

Edit: I also have a 1360x768 TV, and I have a 24" 1080p monitor, I have tried using the tv but I couldnt handle it, a 1080p monitor would make it look far better then a new video card.

My 2c

If you insist on a new card, a gtx 560 ti or a gtx 570 should run it perfectly at that resolution...

The heat issues are actually over-dramatized.

What does get annoying is the noise of the fan when the card does heat up. Not the heat itself.

But if you have a case that does have a good amount of space and that an insulate the noise of the fan (or replace the fan all together), you got yourself a....

Problem is, I don't think my card will be able to run low very well with decent shaders+AA on 1080p. It works on medium now... but IDK.

I would look into a 1080p if I could find a good one for a decent price with built in speakers, preferably less than what this TV would be appraised for. Unfortunately the only ones seem to be Asus and I don't want to touch them after recent events.

Right now it looks like my options are:
-Sapphire Dirt 3 6950
-EVGA 560 ti

Dirt 3 comes out to 25 dollars cheaper, not sure which one to roll with.

EDIT: Reason I said 2gb was because I do plan on upgrading resolution eventually if not now, maybe next year. Don't want to be bottlenecked by the memory.

For that resolution? GTX 560 ti. A 570 wouldn't hurt for when you get a decent screen.

After much deliberation I think I'm going to go with an EVGA 560 ti 2gb.

Any idea on how much these would go on sale around Black Friday/Cyber Monday on Newegg?

EDIT: Just realized a toxic 6950 is the same price after MIR's. What do you guys think?

I have had two asus ones, I love mine to bits.

Sure my ve228h and ve248h have nothing on the s27a950d I was originally intending on buying, but they still look awesome!
