Overclocking with Sandy bridge

Thread Starter
Hey guys, I only just got my 2600k after upgrading from the 2600 so i can overclock. This is my 1st time doing a overclock on my cpu and i have some questions and hesitations about doing so.

I have a asus p8p678 evo motherboard and im not sure what settings to turn off and leave on. Im going for a 4.5ghz overclock, can anyone please shead some light as to what settings i should touch and what not to touch?

Thanks!

intel cpu essential threads on OCN. download the latest pdf manual from the manufacturer, and see if they have an OC'ing guide(if not,MSI has one for the Z68 chipset). most of your questions/concerns are in one (if not both) of those locations.
