Does it look like this?

Or like this?

Yes. If it a capacitor don't run you pc. Its an easy fix though. Just get a new and solder to the board. That is if you know how to.

Scratch that. They are probably surface mount ones. Better have them professionally done at an electronics repair.

Solder a replacement of the same value back in its place. Easy to do and will probably will cost less than $1.00 for the capacitor( if indeed that is what fell off and it sounds like it is). If you're not too handy with this kind of thing watch a few you tube tutorials. EDIT: btw you can get cheap caps at Radio Shack but if you want a little higher end brands check out http://www.badcaps.net/pages.php?vid=22

Guys, it's highly unlikely that a lot of capacitors fell off all at one time...
It's already unlikely enough that it fell off in the first place.

It was probably a standoff

No one mentioned a lot of them falling off I don't think. The way I understand it 1 fell off but there are a lot of them hence why I'm guessing its caps. But anyway at this point best to wait for pics or OP response. People knock caps loose more often than you think. I've had to deal with it a few times for other people that did it.

It can't just get "knocked" off...you would have to pull it off..if not yank it

Solder connections are pretty strong, especially large ones like for capacitors.
