Starcaft 2

Thread Starter
Why does Starcraft 2 only run on one of my cores? I had the task manger up while i was playing and it showed that my third core was being used like 90% while the others were like 10%. I ran prime 95 to see if there was something wrong but everything was normal.

One core is used more than others. If you examine the task manager while running things, many programs do not utilize multiple cores. If the game doesn't lag, then you shouldn't worry about it.

SC2 is strictly a 2 core software. If you set affinity to more than 2 cores, it will not run on the extra cores other than the 2 main ones. Most of the time, programs like to run on certain cores which in your case would be the third core. When I run SC2 on mine, it perfectly uses 2 cores. Core 0 and 1. I would probably set affinity to cores 0 and 1 if you don't have HT enabled. If you do, it will be 0 and 2.
